House of Blues Anaheim Grand Opening Party

Sometimes I wake up and pinch myself that I’m able to have the opportunity to take part in so many exciting events. On February 25, I was invited to attend a private grand opening party for the brand new House of Blues in Anaheim. I had been previously looking forward to getting to see and experience the new venue ever since they moved away from Downtown Disney. 16996233_10104696949427524_3698929729608385033_nI walked the Blue Carpet VIP style and even got in a photo with the Bluesmobile.17021646_10104696948908564_3336383775259225602_nAre you fan-girling out yet? How cool was that? Of course, all this action was just on the Red Blue Carpet before even entering the venue! With so many treats just on the outside, what kind of gems would be sitting inside awaiting me? But wait!

And then that happened! Just taking selfies with the Blues Brothers. No big deal, right? After some subsequent squealing and hand-shaking, I finally composed myself to walk into the venue. 16998031_10104696949412554_2464582487078409057_nHow cute are their hard hats? According to the staff and construction workers, the paint was still wet from a few hours prior. Everyone really went above and beyond so that we could enjoy this night.

House of Blues really knows how to throw a party! Beautiful people, breathtaking archietcture, and also great music and good food! There was the Foundation Room, which is a very upscale Asian-inspired lounge and bar. I spent some time in there for some of the pre-show to grab some cocktails and Asian tapas as some DJs spun some great old school tunes. Below, the dishes included Southern cuisine such as shrimp and grits, sliders, po’ boys & jambalaya, etc.I16938585_10104696949173034_2139692414013311312_nI have a big sweet tooth and I loved, loved, loved their key lime pie tarts! I’m sure they are regular sized, but since it was a private party they were passed out as hors d’oeuvres. There were a multitude of rooms each with their own theme and vibe to them. Large hand-painted murals adorned the halls as well as each of the bathrooms and stage areas. There was even a mural on the ground floor that took 100 hours to paint!

It was hilarious because there were some gals that tried to sneak into the mens bathroom just to get a peek at the paintings. I saw some pretty confused guys coming out of the restrooms. All in the name of art and research, right?

The best part of the night was definitely when Jim Belushi and Dan Aykroyd took the stage. They also buried mud under the stage, which is a tradition observed at all House of Blues grand openings.

The House of Blues Anaheim is officially open. KORN tickets have already been sold out. Daya will also be performing there soon. For those thinking about visiting, I highly recommend going. The venue is absolutely gorgeous. There’s room for many events to go on simultaneously. The builders really took into consideration a number of guest needs when constructing this beauty. And the music! My, oh my… the sound is literally music to my ears. Acoustics and all! There will be live entertainment nightly, craft beer, specialty drinks and creative food in their indoor and outdoor spaces. Entertainment will include local bands as well as comedy acts to rockstar karaoke and movie nights. House of Blues is located in a plaza called Garden Walk for those that are unfamiliar with area. You can visit their website to see who is slated to perform. Don’t wait though because tickets sell out fast! 16997977_10104696964726864_3796861979419251347_nThank you for having me House of Blues! I can’t wait to be back!
